How I Deal With Injuries in My Fitness Journey

Injuries are very common in my fitness journey.

I didn’t take them that seriously at first, but I started to recently—especially after I hurt my wrists. Most of the time, it’s not something huge, but the truth is: you have to listen to your body.

If you ignore pain, the risk is you’ll hurt yourself even more. You can even end up quitting or not making progress at all in the skills you’re trying so hard to learn.

So here’s my simple method for dealing with injuries 👇

1. Warm Up (Always!) 🔥

Before I practice a skill that requires a lot, I warm up every single time. Honestly, this is one of the best ways to prevent injury.

Even a quick 5–10 minutes makes your body ready to move. Skipping warm-ups feels faster, but the truth is, it’s not worth the risk.

2. Rest When You Need To 🛌

Just because you warmed up doesn’t mean you can’t get injured. Accidents happen. Or sometimes we push ourselves too hard.

That’s when rest becomes your best friend.

Rest gives your body the time it needs to recover. Personally, if a movement hurts me a lot, I avoid it for two or three sessions. Sometimes it takes a week. It really depends.

Then when I come back, I return slowly and build up again. That’s how I progress without pushing my body too far.

3. Train at Your Level ⚖️

This one is tough for me sometimes—but it’s so necessary.

We all want to improve fast, but forcing yourself into exercises your body isn’t ready for almost always leads to injury.

Working out at your level is not a weakness—it’s how you actually make progress in the long run. When your body is ready, you’ll naturally level up.

My Final Thought 💭

Injuries are part of the journey. What matters is how you handle them. Take care of your body, listen to it, and remember: it’s better to slow down than to be forced to stop completely.
